JOB OPPORTUNITY
RESEARCHER ON MULTI-PHYSICS MODELLING OF LI-IONS BATTERY H/F
Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA) is a French governmental research-and-technology organization with activities in energy, Information Technology, healthcare, defense and security. CEA-Tech, one of its divisions, focuses on creating value and innovation through technology transfer to its industrial partners. It employs 4500 scientists and engineers including 300 Ph.D. students and 300 assignees from partner companies. CEA-Tech owns more than 2200 patent families
- Field – Chemistry
- Title of the offer – Researcher on Multi-physics modeling of Li-ion battery H / F
- Duration of the contract (in months) 12
Description of the offer
The main objectives of this project is to develop novel characterization techniques enable multi-scale and multi-physics assessment of material properties nature (intrinsic properties) and material performance (components, cell level). In parallel of the development of characterization techniques, modelling and simulation add-ons will be developed to provide understanding and battery materials characteristics and performances. In this European project, the candidate will be responsible to:
Manage the modelling task in the framework of the EU project. In particular, he/she will be responsible to the reporting at the project coordinator. Moreover, he/she will manage the interactions between the other partners involve in the modelling task, and also between the experimental parts;
Develop the modeling add-ons (from material properties to material performances) for the prediction of performance, durability and safety into the processed materials. The models will be based on the current models of MUSES platform (laboratory simulation platform). New model, in the framework of MUSES platform, should be also developed;
Link the simulations to the project database, and to the different characterization techniques (as inputs and outputs);
Use the modelling add-ons developed for the specific use cases of the project;
Moreover, a scientific production (peer review articles, international conference) will be requesting.
Candidate Profile
- Bac +8 PhD on electrochemical modeling Knowledge on multi-physics modelling Li-ions modelling, at the meso-scale
- Knowledge on fundamental material properties of batteries
- Knowledge on experimental characterizations (imaging techniques for example)
- Knowledge on numerical simulations and modeling multi-scale approach
- Strong capacity to develop new Li-ions battery model and validate them with experimental tests
- Strong capacity to work on a collaborative environment, in the framework of an European project
- Strong capacity to develop models in the framework of a collaborative simulation platform
- Capacity for innovation
